Ruby Red Macro

I’ve been trying to take photos indoors for a while, but my house is so dark & my camera doesn’t want to work without the flash most of the time. So I was very happy that this shot worked, with just a dim dining light on.

  1. It worked very well. Not only did you capture the nail polish but the red on the books in the background. A tripod is a very handy little item when you’re trying to take pictures in low light. Too bad I rarely think to use mine 🙂

  2. You have captured the shot beautifully. The composition is spot on, the bright red of the polish stands out well with the books thrown out of focus along with their reflection. Great shot.

  3. Red nail polish! (slaps forehead) why didn’t I think of that! Great idea!! Great shot!

I keep a little halogen desk lamp handy for lighting shots when it’s too dark inside. It works pretty good. My flash and macros don’t mix too well. 🙂

  4. Nice & pretty close up!

I, somehow, lost track of your blog – I don’t know what happened! I’m following again now & will be back often!

    Have a great week!

  5. Your flash doesn;t turn off? Macro would get very bright and out of color. Do you use the macro setting?I use it the most since i shoot lots of closeups of plants and critters. Thanks for stopping by, I enjoyed your comment and post.
